Prepare an authentic Argentine asado with stunning views of Avenido Cervino

I loved the asado on the patio, and the view from Nicolas' apartment is amazing. It's one of my favorite memories from my time in Buenos Aires! Nicolas is an easy-going, friendly cook, and his apartment is the perfect date night location. Nicolas was warm and welcoming from beginning to end, and that feeling of simple goodness carries into the food. It would be easy to spend a long time chatting on the patio, except that he has so many recommendations of what to do next in the area (ask about PIBÄ).

Pasta making class in Chacarita Buenos Aires

On Saturday we went to Nico and Pilar's home and we had an amazing time! The neighborhood is one of the latest cool places in Buenos Aires city. There are a lot of very cool restaurants and bars, and it's the place where young people are moving to, looking for less expensive accommodation that is also well connected to public transport. The building where they live is really interesting - 1920's construction with 40 small houses for families, each with their own terrace. Nico and Pilar were very welcoming and we had a really nice conversation during our experience. The house is cool - very Buenos Aires with lots of colors and stuff but clean. The class was easy to follow and the ingredients can be easily found. The food tasted great! It may not be fancy but going to this young couple's home with homey vibes gives you a chance to experience a taste of real Argentinian Italian cuisine and hospitality.

Northern Argentine cuisine with a lovely couple in Buenos Aires

The food was delicious and so, the company and the conversations. We even got - well, we asked for a 'doggie bag' :-). I think evenings like these are so special and unique to connect with the local but open minded and global community; nothing you get from restaurant outings, etc.

Authentic, homemade Argentinian cooking class and meal in San Iisdro

My wife and I really enjoyed our time with Virginia and Lucas! We were able to prepare and cook an authentic Argentinian asado starting with buying the products at the local shops, and then, preparing and cooking in their home. Virginia put a lot of time and thought into the menu, and I had some dietary restrictions which she was able to accommodate. The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed learning more about Argentinian food and culture. We would definitely recommend booking with Virginia and Lucas!

Gourmet-style fire, meat and wine experience with a Francis Mallmann apprentice

Daniel and Isa offer two meal options. As a Francis Mallmann apprentice, Daniel’s first option focuses on the fire and smoke coming from the grill. The outcome: not a traditionally served asado, but rather, a gourmet-style experience, starting with small bites of a traditional provoleta (spiced melted cheese on the grill) served on a bruschetta, and a classic mini choripan with homemade bread and chimichurri (a classic argentine sausage served on bread). This will be followed by a wide spread of the most tasty asado starters, locally known as “achuras”, including “mollejas” or sweetbread, and kidneys with homemade national criolla sauce and provenzal. For the main course, choose between classic Argentine cuts of beef: tira de asado, entraña, bife de chorizo or vacio. As your food is prepared and during your meal Isa will provide insight on Argentine wine from different regions of the country, as well as a wine pairing lesson, explaining why her wine selection will perfectly complement your food.

For guests that are into unexplored flavors and would like to be surprised by Daniel’s skills, there’s a second option that Daniel and Isa call “Argentinian with a twist”, combining classic Argentine dishes with tastes from other South American countries. This option may include small bites in the reception such as ossobuco croquettes with panko (Peruvian influenced Argentine appetizer), mini provoletas with tomato pesto and arugula salad as a starter. Your main will be a slow cooked beef tenderloin wrapped in bacon, served with accordion style potatoes and roasted cherry tomatoes.

Please include your preference between option one or two when creating your booking. Depending on the weather and your preference, you can enjoy the meal at Isa and Daniel’s dining table or head outside and enjoy the view.

Private gourmet experience in an upscale residential neighborhood

Meet Marice at her apartment in one of Buenos Aires’ most beautiful residential neighborhoods, Belgrano R, famous for being the location of a large number of national embassies. Flor lives on the main avenue while Marice lives in a cozy apartment 10 blocks away.

Hosting takes place either at Flor’s or Marice’s, depending on the guest’s meal preference between barbecue (asado) or home-style cuisine. If the day is nice, guests can enjoy a traditional barbecue or “asado” at Marice’s. She built a little barbecue on her patio garden and is an excellent "asadora". If it’s a cold winter day, you might want to choose a more gourmet, home-style option: a homemade pumpkin soup as an entrée, followed by beef carbonada, a delicious stew, and a flan with dulce de leche as dessert. If you choose this home-style option, you will meet at Marice's and walk together a few blocks to her sister Flor's place.

Food will be paired with a local Argentinian Malbec wine for either meal option.

Traditional Argentinean home-cooked meal and cooking class in Buenos Aires

Mariela greeted us warmly and welcomed us into her home, which already smelled delicious. We had a traditional Argentinian beverage before heading out for a neighborhood walk to the local bakery, deli and Mercado to purchase items for our lunch. The meat and vegetables were prepared very well and plated in an appealing manner. Dessert and traditional mate made for an enjoyable end to a lingering lunch. One BA experience not to miss. Being in a home and not in a cooking school made all the difference to a unique experience.

Modern Argentinian Gourmet Cuisine

This was mine and my wife’s first time ever doing anything like this at all. So going into it I was not sure what to expect and I was nervous there might be a big language barrier. Once the class started though it was absolutely amazing! She was very easy to understand and gave us all the time that we needed since we were new and didn’t exactly know what we were doing. She also made sure to re explain things when we were unsure if we were doing the steps properly. It was overall an amazing experience and we are looking forward to signing up for another class.

Argentinean asado and cooking class in Buenos Aires

Whenever I travel to a new place I love to take a cooking class! This is a sure fire way to experience the culture, learn more about the food and history of the region, have fun, improve my cooking skills and typically enjoy the best meal of the trip! So for our recent trip to Buenos Aires, we signed up for “Enjoy an Argentinean Asado and Cooking Lesson with Locals in Buenos Aires”, and it delivered on all criteria! The cooking class is at Juan and Marina’s warm and welcoming home; an inexpensive taxi ride from the Palermo district. Juan and Marina made us right at home and had a delicious menu for us to prepare and feast on together. Preparing the meal while enjoying Argentinian wines and their good company was only exceeded by sitting down to eat the results and they were scrumptious! Empanadas, fugazzetta pizza, parillo and more. It is easy to recommend this terrific experience.

Authentic asado and cooking experience in a beautiful home in El Talar

This felt like a couple that you knew at the university who got married, moved to Argentina, and you are now visiting them many years later. An evening with Constanza and Juan was the highlight of our stay in Argentina. Their house is beautiful, perfect for entertaining and experiencing an Argentine barbecue. The food was really delicious. From the picadas to the empanadas, to the different cuts of meats and vegetables cooked on the grill, everything was perfect. We had good conversation for hours while cooking on their backyard patio. The trees in the backyard provided a cool escape from the hot sun and a perfect backdrop to the evening. Constanza and Juan are two very warm and down to earth people. They provided some very helpful cooking tips as well as getting a taste of the Argentine barbecue experience. Muchas gracias Constanza y Juan por una noche maravillosa que nunca olvidaremos.

Market visit, cooking class and a traditional Argentinean meal in San Telmo

A Great Time & A New Dish For Home. Our hostess and teacher, Gabriella, showed us how to cook several types of really tasty empanadas and how to form five (that’s what I remember - maybe it was more) shapes of shells with different dough folding and pinching techniques. The pumpkin and cheese were fantastic! The best thing is, it’s easy enough to do and we do them at home all the time now. This was one of the best evenings we had in Buenos Aries and definitely was a bargain at the price. She mentioned that she can teach other classic Argentine foods as well and we will surely call her when we are back. Not to be missed!
