Excellent experience. Fun and delicious.
Join K. Yaa and Aom in the kitchen where together you will prepare an authentic Thai meal. You will chop, pound and squeeze ingredients as they share their secrets to preparing a flavorful Thai meal. You will cook in their small kitchen which is located in the back of the house in an open air space, typical of small Thai homes.
This was truly extraordinary! We were picked up from our hotel and taken on a very informative tour of 2 different markets. After tasting and buying ingredients we got on the boat to Aoy’s restaurant. What a beautiful place! We had some snacks and relaxed before starting our amazing cooking class. Aoy is so knowledgeable about the food and the recipes. Everything was fresh, healthy and delicious. She is a fantastic teacher and chef! It’s not a surprise she won Iron Chef Thailand! I recommend this experience for anyone looking g to learn more about Thailand, cuisine and cooking!
Penny & Tam were a great duo! We visited Bangkok for the first time and eager to do a cooking class. Penny lives in a nice apartment in the heart of Bangkok and taught us how to cook simple but very tasty Thai dishes! She and her warm family welcomed us into their home. My husband does not eat meat so Penny adjusted the menu accordingly. Thanks, Traveling Spoon and thanks, Penny & Tam!
Pimmy was a fun and welcoming host and provided guests with a great culinary experience. She picks you up right from the BTS Skytrain Station On Nut, making it super easy to navigate for travelers who have not ventured to Bangkok before. The market is small but the vendors were all super friendly and there were definitely some strange finds here, for example, live frogs. It is truly a unique experience to see first-hand where the ingredients are coming from before preparing the meals. Once returning to her home, you create some of the most noteworthy Thai dishes the country has to offer, and even though I was so incredibly full, I managed to scrape all of my plates clean: the food was that good.
A meal at Apple’s home offers a unique and delightful culinary experience in Bangkok, where guests can enjoy both Thai and Chinese-inspired dishes while soaking in the charm of her rustic yet vibrant surroundings. After you've been picked up from the monorail station, enjoy the scenic ride to Apple's home through the countryside, passing rice fields and occasionally spotting cows and buffalos along the way. Then at Apple’s dining table, you’ll share a home-cooked Thai meal that features authentic dishes rarely found in restaurants, showcasing family favorites passed down through generations. The meal begins with refreshing drinks like pandan juice or lemongrass juice. For appetizers, you’ll taste morning glory salad with shrimp and pork. The main course is served with fragrant jasmine rice or vibrant butterfly pea rice (with its striking purple hue), and may include chicken green curry with winter melon or stir-fried pork with garlic and pepper or fried boiled egg with tamarind sauce. To finish the meal, indulge in a comforting poached banana in sweet coconut milk with coconut meat. This experience at Apple’s home combines delicious flavors, traditional family recipes, warm hospitality and introduction to Thai food and culture.
