Host offerings
Meet Juan and Marina
Juan initially took up cooking as a hobby back in his native country of Colombia; he grew up in Bogota and later moved to Buenos Aires to train to become a professional chef. He graduated from IAG (Instituto Argentino de GastronomĂa) and then ran his own Argentinean restaurant and catering business along with his wife, Marina. Marina is Argentinean with Russian and Swiss roots and is the perfect partner for Juan, as she enjoys hosting and Juan loves cooking! Juan and Marina specialize in Argentinean, Caribbean and South American cuisine. Juan especially enjoys cooking Argentinean asado, though he has experience cooking of all types of Latin American cuisines, particularly Colombian pastries.

In-home meal (1 - 6 guests) Juan and Marina live in Martinez, a suburb of Buenos Aires. Their home is in a gated property, situated on a classic residential leafy street dotted with pretty houses. The interior is designed in a cozy cottage style and includes a side patio and yard and outside dining area with Juan's BBQ and cooking spot.
Enter Juan and Marina's home and enjoy a few tastes to start your experience like homemade arepas with guacamole, chorizo sausage wrapped in pastry with relish and chimichurri, and grilled provolone cheese served with rocket. This will be followed by a traditional Argentinian asado, which is an assortment of grilled meats such as blood sausage (morcilla), pork flank and bife de chorizo (beef sirloin), which will served with salad, char-grilled peppers and onions, and guacamole. Your meal will end with a sweet dessert of dulce de leche pancakes.
Cooking experience (1 - 6 guests) Juan offers a hands-on Buenos Aires cooking class as well as barbecue (asado) demonstration. First join Juan at the barbecue where you will learn about the different cuts of meat, the various methods of cooking and eating each cut, and then begin slow-cooking your meal. After your barbecue demonstration, join Juan in his kitchen to learn to make the dough for your main entree, as well as some homemade extra-crunchy fugazetta pizzettas. After your demonstration and cooking lesson enjoy your authentic asado meal together in Juan and Marina's home.

From the moment we met them, we were instant friends. They welcomed us into their beautiful home and made us feel as though we were old friends. They were so informative in teaching us new cuts of meat, types of wood, techniques and their cultural past-time. We talked, we laughed, we ate for hours and learned how the traditional Asado was prepared and presented. The food and wine were amazing. Every course was just as good as the one before. The flavors were incredible. Juan's Colombian twist added a new dimension to the Asado as well as some of their Colombian appetizers. Juan & Marina showed us how to make panchoripan which we had never had before. Juan taught us the proper way to start the parrilla with woods we are now dreaming of. We were so inspired that we have taken a new approach to the way we BBQ and the Argentine cuisine. We hope to build an Argentine parrilla in our backyard and entertain our friends with an Asado experience like the one we experienced in their home. Thank you so very much Juan and Marina for not only an unforgettable evening but for the recipes and the ongoing culinary advice. We hope to meet you again someday! Juan & Marina had a beautiful home and were exceptional hosts who made us feel like we had been life long friends. We learned how to cook traditional Asado as well as making authentic chimichurri and a few other delicious items. The steak we had was hands down the most delicious steak we had our ENTIRE time in Argentina. With Juan & Marina's impeccable hospitality, delicious food and beautiful home I would not hesitate to book this experience again with them. It feels as if I've made lifelong friends."}, {"author_name" : "Matt522", "rating" : 5, "body" : "After two weeks of exploring Argentina, we were lucky enough to be welcomed into Juan and Marina's beautiful home. It was as if we had known them for years, It was the first time in Argentina we were able to dig deeper into the cuisine than just indulging. As Juan has an extensive background in gastronomy and Marina in hospitality, and they both have a strong understanding of the English language (as well as a few other languages), they explained the importance of each step in the process and were able to give hints of how to take the dish to the \"next level\". Eating local cuisine is always the recommended way to experience the local culture (we did a lot), but Juan's empanadas were the best empanadas we had in Argentina. I am so happy we were able to enjoy this lovely night and recommend Juan and Marina to anyone that is in Buenos Aires!"}, {"author_name" : "michelev952", "rating" : 5, "body" : "Juan and Marina were very welcoming and so interesting. Their home was lovely and was well worth the ride out to San Isdero. Bring your appetite as they had a traditional pizza and sausage appetizers to start and three different grilled meats with all the sides which were delicious. If possible, your first evening in town as they gave us wonderful suggestions of restaurants and activities for our stay."}, {"author_name" : "sourenn2019", "rating" : 5, "body" : "During our staying in Buenos Aires, my wife after the detailed search found this venue for us.
