Host offerings
Nate and his wife Kristen live in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of New York City. Nate is originally from Chicago, where he was deeply inspired by his grandmother's home cooking. It was there he honed his cooking skills. His wife Kristen grew up in New York and was influenced by her grandfather from the Bronx. The mash-up of flavors are brought on by the uniqueness of Nate and Kristen's upbringing. What makes this meal come to life outside of the dishes is that they are both wonderful people with a great sense of humor. Join them for a meal for a true New York city experience with locals.

In-home meal (1 - 6 guests) Join your host Nate at his apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant for a flavor explosion inspired by NYC and Cajun food. Nate and his wife Kristen enjoy diverse flavors inspired by their unique heritage so your meal might include Italian, Cajun or Mexican-inspired dishes. At one meal, flavors may be influenced by Kristen's Bronx-bred grandfather while inspiration from Nate's grandmother's takes center stage at another. You might enjoy meatballs in a Sunday gravy inspired by a recipe handed down by Kristen's grandfather, who hails from NYC's Little Italy by way of the Bronx. Or you might enjoy chicken and waffles, the chicken brined with agave nectar, cumin and cardamom, and sweet Belgian waffles topped with tangy whipped cream, peach compote, and pecan halves. After the meal, guests can relax and socialize in the living room. If you're lucky, their cat Filomena might come out to say hi. Nate and Kristen hope you will leave pleasantly full!
