Join Anna on one of her favorite activities, a tour of the local daily open market, Mercato Chiesa Nuova in Bologna. Roll up your sleeves in Anna's kitchen and get ready to prepare seafood. You will learn to clean fish and cook delicious Mediterranean fish and seafood dishes. After your cooking experience which will last about an hour and a half, you will share the meal you helped prepare under Anna's gazebo in the back garden.

Share a meal with Anna in her welcoming home located in a quiet and peaceful part of Bologna, outside of Bologna. Weather permitting, you may enjoy your Bolognese meal sitting in Anna's charming private gazebo located in a garden in the back of her house. Anna likes to cook and serve fish dishes prepared in a Mediterranean style with a Bolognese touch. Your menu may include dishes such as insalata di mare e capesante or pepperoncino con tonno, a main of stuffed squid or octopus with potatoes, olives and fried polenta, and a side of spring asparagus with parmigiano. Your meal will conclude with a dessert of lemon sorbetto or zuccherini or fresh fruit with custard cream.

Please note Anna has a small kitchen, specializes in seafood and lives outside of Bologna.

More about Anna

Anna has lived and traveled around the world but fell in love with the food and culture of Bologna and moved here in the 80s. Ever since, she has taken several cooking classes hoping to glean the many secrets about traditional Bolognese and Emila Romagna recipes. She is passionate about Mediterranean cuisine, especially fish and seafood and is delighted to share her cooking tips with travelers. She offers authentic home cooking for travelers interested in tasting local food in an informal family setting. She lives in an apartment that feels like an independent house. Anna is a wonderful conversationalist, always interested in exchanging ideas and opinions and loves meeting new people. Anna also hosts foreign students who come to Bologna to study Italian.
