Learn about the variety of spices used in North Indian cooking as you explore a local vegetable and spice market with Jyoti. You will then return to her home to cook and share a traditional North Indian meal.
Your experience starts with a traditional welcome drink in Jyoti's ethnically decorated dining room of her home in the Sheikh Sarai neighborhood of Delhi. Your menu may include dishes such as mutter paneer (peas and Indian cheese in a spiced onion and tomato gravy), chicken curry, dal, rotis, rice, raita, and dessert (without which no meal created by chocolatier Jyoti is complete).
Join Jyoti in her kitchen to learn how to make 2-3 of the dishes such meats and vegetables. You can expect to be cooking for 1 hour before you share the meal you helped prepare over conversation with your host. Jyoti is happy to tailor the menu to your preferences. Please inform her at the time of booking if you are interested in learning to cook a particular dish or regional cuisine.
Please have your driver call before you depart to get directions to Jyoti's home as maps can be confusing in India
This is just a sample menu to give you an idea of the types of dishes the host cooks. Your menu will vary according to seasonal availability.
Jyoti, a trained chocolatier and pastry cook and worldwide traveler, credits her cooking expertise to two great cooks – her mother and her mother-in-law. She lives in New Delhi with her son, Tejas.
