PRIVATE BAHAMIAN BAKING CLASS: If you’re eager to explore the rich flavors of Bahamian baking, this hands-on class is perfect for you! Meet Gabbi at her home or if you choose the optional transport add-on, Gabbi will personally pick you up from your resort or vacation rental. Gabbi welcomes you into her small, cozy home for an authentic Nassau culinary experience. After a warm introduction and an engaging conversation about Bahamian food culture and history, you’ll dive into baking with Gabbi’s expert guidance. Learn essential techniques like kneading dough and crafting flaky pastry as you prepare three delicious breads - one savory and two sweet. You’ll master the art of making Bahamian twists or pineapple duff, coconut bread, and a crisp, flaky hot patty filled with curried chicken, beef, or vegetables. While you’ll make the crust from scratch, the savory fillings will be pre-prepared, as they require cooling before use.

To complement your baking experience, enjoy a refreshing Sky Juice cocktail, a local favorite made with coconut water and gin. If you opt for the alcohol add-on, Gabbi also offers beer or wine to enhance the experience. At the end of your class, take home cherished recipes, a local food gift, and unforgettable memories of Bahamian hospitality. Gabbi happily accommodates dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free options. Gabbi's house is not air-conditioned but it stays pretty cool with a fan.

Notes

Gabbi is only available to host on Sundays and Tuesdays.
