Host offerings
Autumn is a lovely Seattle host excited to share her passion for food and cooking techniques from her modest apartment galley kitchen in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. Autumn trained at the Seattle Culinary Academy and has a Masters degree in gastronomy. She is eager to teach guests not only culinary techniques and flavor combinations but also the history of the dishes she prepares. Autumn moved to Seattle in 2003 and fell in love with Pike Place Market. She shops here frequently and is delighted to give guests a tour of her favorite market that inspires her cooking. An avid traveler, Autumn looks forward to learning about guests' travels and sharing adventures of her own.

Cooking experience (1 - 3 guests) Meet your host Autumn at her small and simple apartment in Seattle. Autumn shares her apartment with her partner Shane and two cats. Enjoy a refreshing seasonal drink before rolling up your sleeves and joining her in her small kitchen to create a fresh and seasonal Pacific Northwest meal. Autumn's cooking is inspired by different cultures from around the world that have made their way to Seattle. As much as possible, Autumn uses fresh, local produce that she purchases from farmer’s markets and herbs from her garden. During your 1.5 hour hands-on Seattle cooking class, learn to sear fish or roast chicken, create a delicious salad with a lively dressing and learn techniques involved in making a sauce that accompanies your main dish. After cooking, enjoy the meal you helped prepare with Autumn at her dining table (or outdoors on her patio, weather permitting) over lively conversation and wine. Your meal concludes with a homemade dessert.
Market visit (1 - 3 guests) Meet your host Autumn at Frank's Produce in Pike Place Market and together discover the bounty that is Pacific Northwest produce. During your 1-hour Pike Place market tour, Autumn introduces you to her favorite vendors selling everything from blackberries and salmon to honey. You will also discuss the meal you would like to cook together. With a basket in hand, pick up a few local and seasonal ingredients and hop on the light rail train at West Lake station. After four stops, make your way to Autumn's Capitol Hill home to begin your Seattle cooking class. You are also welcome to drive to her home in your car if you prefer.
Notes: Please note that your host's home has cats.
