Food tour (1 - 14 guests) Learn about the history and culture behind the food of Alaska with a charismatic and knowledgeable guide that loves to share stories of the people behind the food. Meet your local food tour guide at the Alaska Commercial Fisherman's Memorial, located within walking distance of the Juneau cruise pier. Embark on an Alaskan food adventure during this Juneau private walking food tour led by a local! Savor multiple different tastings that include authentic Alaskan seafood, delicious treats, and locally crafted drinks. You will taste dishes that represent the local culture, including specialties you may not find elsewhere. You will visit 6 local eateries (from hidden gems and family-run establishments to well-known food spots) and sample a variety of classic Alaskan flavors all while learning about the culinary history of Alaska. One tasting has a cocktail pairing and another tasting will be locally brewed beer. Leave with a deep understanding of the food of Alaska as well as a reusable gift bag that includes tasty bites for later, coupons at local stores, and recipes! Your round-trip tour from the downtown meeting location lasts 2.75 hours. You will be walking about 60 minutes (1.2 miles) and your tour includes some uphill/stairs.
