Linda is a local tour operator, guide and wine expert based in Florence. She is originally from Australia, but has lived in Florence for 21 years. And for the past 20 years, she has been offering food and wine walking tours in Florence. She is an expert in private, small group, and multi-day food and wine experiences. On days Linda is unavailable, her team of equally talented and passionate sommeliers and guides will host this Florence market tour.

Market visit (1 - 5 guests) Guided Florence central market food tour – taste authentic Tuscan street food and local delicacies. Meet your host in front of the Cappelle Medicee and then walk to the indoor market of San Lorenzo, to start your Florence central market food tour. Your first stop is at the oldest street food stand in the market, that sells typical Tuscan street food. Here you will taste roast pork panini known as, porchetta, served with a glass of red wine.
Then continue your walk to the growers market area where you will see butchers and fish mongers at work. Later taste freshly baked biscotti, served with a tasting of vin santo. Then visit the Pasta Fresca stand, where you will get to interreact with owners, Federico and Nicola, who are passionate pasta makers, who learned to cook from their grandparents. You will see the machines they use to make fresh pasta, which is prepared daily and supplied to top restaurants in Florence and for locals. Here you will enjoy ravioli with spinach, ricotta and parmigiano. Later sip on a glass of Italian craft beer made with top local ingredients of malt, barley and spelt.
Walk to the top floor of the Mercato Centrale to see a celebration of gourmet regional, national and international stands. Later you will taste chocolates at Christian Beduschi's chocolate and gelato Stand, David Bedu’s savory and sweet breads along with fresh cannoli at Carmelo Pannocchietti’s stand. End your two hour tour of San Lorenzo with a pit stop at Gianni's for a glass of orange wine or rose, served with his bite sized truffle or hand cut prosciutto crostini.
