In the heart of Ubud, Bali you can experience an authentic in-home meal that offers a true taste of Balinese culture through its flavors. Hosted in Dewa's home, your home-cooked Balinese meal may includes a variety of traditional dishes such as pepes ikan (grilled tuna in banana leaves), a delicate and deeply satisfying dish, bumbu kuning (chicken in a fresh turmeric and coconut milk sauce), bregedel (corn fritters), and jukut urab (seasonal vegetables with grated coconut and fried shallots). Each dish is prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, a unique opportunity to savor an authentic Balinese meal while connecting with the warmth and hospitality of the local culture.

In traditional Balinese style, you will not eat your meal with Dewa and his family, although they will be with you throughout the rest of the experience. In keeping with their Balinese family tradition and sense of spirituality, your hosts will not share the meal with you at the dining table. Their preferred approach is to eat on one's own and focus on personal meditation to achieve a positive state of mind.

"This was hands down one of the best things we did on our Honeymoon, and one of the best cooking class we have ever done. This is so much more than a cooking class, we spent the whole day with Dewa and his family learning all about his life, his village, and life in Bali. Dewa is so incredibly kind, and knowledgable you will love spending time with him. The food we made was delicious, and healthy, and Dewa gave us a handmade journal for us to write the recipes down in. We got a full look at Dewa's village, and got to see exactly where all of our food was coming from. We loved this and cannot recommend it enough.

Thank you so much Dewa for all your kindness, we loved spending time with you and your family!"

"The complete evening was a joy. The collection from our hotel on time and on arrival an excellent tour of the family life. Then the best bit, the cooking.

Realising all ingredients where home grown and fresh ( even the chicken ), the lesson became more interesting and throughout was fully interactive.

We all got involved with for preparation and serving of the many course prepared. We then sat down to enjoy the masterpieces we created ( with a cold beer and water )

Highly recommended to families and groups.

Thank you for welcoming us all into your house and surrounding x"

"An incredible experience from the moment Dewa picked us up. This is my 3rd cooking class in Ubud and I would recommend this one over and over again. You are immersed in Dewa's culture, home life, and cooking methods. The food was absolutely delicious and the environment was beautiful."

"the moment that you meet Dewa is the moment you know that you were lucky to have chosen this experience, It’s not just a cooking class ( yes you get to cook some delicious dishes) but its much more, Dewa will take you for a very informative visit around his village pointing out various plants that have medicinal properties and uses in cooking like the cacao plants grown in the village, it was obvious as we walked he is embraced by the village and loved, we continued our walk along the irrigation pathway for the rice fields and Dewa explained the possible one benefit that the Dutch in the past gave to the Balinese, further along he Explained Balinese way of live. The rest i will leave for you to experience, but one last view forget booking into a class with 20 - 30 others this is a private class just for you and maybe your partner or small group only. Extremely highly recommended"
