Aditti’s food journey began when she was very young, back home in Patiala, Punjab, where she had the privilege of being fed by her doting grandmother. She suspects that her culinary skills might be part of her family DNA as all of the women in her family are talented cooks, from her grandmother, to her mother, to her sister. After earning a masters degree in journalism Aditti decided to follow her true passion and train in the culinary arts. She hasn't looked back and now runs a catering business, which often features her beloved grandmother’s recipes. Aditti shares her Punjabi family recipes and will also introduce you to Mughlai and Old Delhi cuisine in all its splendid glory. She wishes to showcase the Indian warmth and sense of hospitality that she grew up with at frequent family gatherings with guests and homemade food.
Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.
In-home meal (1 - 8 guests) Aditti is a single parent and lives alone as both her children Hunar and Prapti are studying and living abroad. She grew up helping her grandmother in the kitchen, making simple meals for her family. She says every Punjabi loves parathas (flatbread), butter, ghee, lassi and is incapable of cooking in small quantities - so be ready to be well fed at her table! She’ll serve some of her family recipes such as dal makhni (slow cooked black lentils with kidney beans, butter and cream), mutton badami pasanda (goat curry with yogurt, cream and ground almonds), paneer lababdar (fresh cheese cooked in spicy tomato and cream sauce), kadai chicken (chicken and vegetables stir fried in a kadai, an Indian wok), a fresh salad and to end your meal, rose kulfi (frozen dairy dessert) or paan shot (a summer cooler made with pureed betel leaves).
Cooking experience (1 - 8 guests) Join Aditti in her kitchen to learn to make traditional Mughlai cuisine characterized by hearty dishes and rich, creamy gravies. During your Gurgaon cooking class, learn to make two to three authentic Mughlai dishes that comprise cream, butter, whole spices, dried fruits and nuts. You may learn to make vegetable achari, spiced vegetables, chicken korma, chicken braised in a nutty, yogurt sauce and rotis, Indian flat bread. Your meal includes other dishes Aditti may have prepared in advance and concludes with a delicious Indian dessert.
Notes: This experience is not suitable for children. If you choose the alcohol add-on, Aditti offers local beer.
