She believes in balanced tastes, for egs, the sweetness of carrots in her soup is balanced by the earthy flavors of cloves and coriander. As you share a meal together, hear about the various properties of the ingredients she uses and how they benefit the body and mind. Sample menu

This is just a sample menu to give you an idea of the types of dishes the host cooks. Your menu will vary according to seasonal availability.

  • Ayurvedic meal: Carrot kheer, bottlegourd soopa, khakra snack, mixed vegetable sabzi, dal with healthy lentils, fresh salads and pickles, spiced buttermilk, steamed rice and rotis.
  • North Indian Rajasthani meal: Saffron sweet rice, kachori, roti platter, gatte ki sabzi, aloo pyaaz Jaipuri, rice with gooseberry kadhi, salads, pickles, papads.
  • South Indian Andhra meal: Almond payasam, chapati with potato side-dish, bisi bele with broken wheat, raw mango or curry leaf rice, fresh salads and pickles, spiced yogurt, papads.

Pratibha is an award-winning cookbook writer. Her first book "Cooking at Home with Pedatha" won the Best Vegetarian Cookbook in the world. She calls herself a spiritual and creative cook and focuses on healthy vegetarian cooking. She specializes in three Indian cuisines: Ayurvedic, North Indian Rajasthani and South Indian Andhra cooking. She lives in a traditional home in Mylapore, Chennai.
