Join your host Tarik at his modern kitchen to learn to cook a traditional Moroccan meal from recipes that he learned from his mother, a black-belt in Moroccan cooking. Your hands-on cooking class will last about two hours. You will learn to cook 2-3 dishes such as a tajine or pastilla and zalouk from scratch. Enjoy learning about what is involved in creating a delicious tajine and simple Moroccan cooking techniques before you sit down at the table to share the meal you helped prepare with Tarik.

Maha lives in a simple apartment in Hay Riad with her husband, children - Sara, Amine and Malak, and their cute furry cat, Felix. She will introduce you to traditional Moroccan dishes – these are simple, everyday meals that you will find at every Moroccan family's dinner table. Also if you have a specific request for a dish you have tried or seen somewhere and want to taste, please let Maha know in advance and she is happy to customize the menu for you! A few dishes you will be sharing with Maha and her family at the table are zaalouk (a Moroccan salad of cooked eggplants and tomatoes) or Taktouka (a traditional Moroccan savory dish and spread made from tomatoes, bell peppers, garlic, toasted paprika and olive oil), tagine (stew made with meats or fish or vegetables that is braised in a gently spiced sauce and cooked in an earthen pot) and fruit salad (using seasonal fruits).

Your Dada (guardian of traditional Moroccan cuisine) will guide you in a cooking studio for an immersive cooking experience in Rabat. In this hands-on Moroccan cooking class, after a Moroccan mint tea ceremony, you'll learn to prepare authentic Moroccan dishes, using time-honored techniques and aromatic spices. Dadas speak limited English but you will have a personal translator who will translate in English (or French). Choose your classic Moroccan menu for this 3-hour experience, and after cooking, enjoy the meal you helped prepare. After your cooking lesson, you will receive a gift of a month of free access to an online Moroccan cooking school, featuring 150 courses and recipes! On days that Dada Najat is not available, an equally wonderful Dada will host your cooking lesson.
