Nagma grew up in Lucknow in a large family with 7 sisters and 1 brother. After marrying into a family that has been living in Agra for many generations, she had a baby and soon discovered her passion for cooking. She believes in providing her family with tasty, healthy food prepared with natural ingredients. To that end, she grinds all of her spice masalas at home and mills her own wheat flour for home made flatbreads, such as chapati, roti, naan and puri. She makes her own paneer (fresh cheese), ghee (clarified butter), dahi (yogurt) and butter all at home.
Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.
Cooking experience (1 - 5 guests) Nagma lives with her husband, Wasi Haider, and their sons Shiron and Shibab, in a beautiful 3-story bungalow located a 10-minute drive from the Taj Mahal. Step out onto their terrace to view of one of the domes of the Taj Mahal! The family lives on the ground floor of the house and the top two floors are used as a homestay.
Please note that this is a cooking demonstration, not a hands-on cooking class. Join Nagma in her kitchen to watch her prepare 2-3 dishes such as shammi kebabs (mincemeat kebabs) and aloo gobi (North Indian potato and cauliflower) or paneer (fresh Indian cheese), that you will eat along with other prepared dishes eaten with rice and Indian breads.
Notes: Please note that Nagma is not fluent in English and one of her sons, Shiron or Shibab, will serve as translator during your visit.
