Meet Gerald

Gerald is a lively chef with a great sense of humor, who has called Provence home for over three decades. Growing up in a family that owned a hotel restaurant, he was immersed in the culinary world from a young age. He honed his skills through a cooking apprenticeship in Geneva and gained invaluable experience working at over three Michelin-starred restaurants in Switzerland and Belgium. Today, Gerald works as a private chef in Provence, bringing his expertise to intimate gatherings and catering weddings with his signature flair. Gerald has two cats in his home but they will not be in the professional cooking studio.

What to expect

Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.

Cooking experience (1 - 10 guests) Enjoy a private, 2.5-hour cooking class led by a Michelin-star trained chef, where you'll master the art of creating a gourmet three-course meal in a fun and relaxed setting. Under Gerald's expert guidance, you'll prepare a tantalizing starter, an exquisite main course, and a decadent dessert, all while soaking in the vibrant flavors of Provence. Your experience takes place in Gerald's professional cooking studio that is attached to his home. After the hands-on lesson, savor the fruits of your labor paired with carefully selected local French wines. Leave with newfound culinary skills, recipes to recreate the magic at home, and unforgettable memories of an authentic Provençal experience. Wine is included in the cost of your experience.

Market visit (1 - 10 guests) On Sundays, immerse yourself in the best of Provençal cuisine with a farmer's market tour, a hands-on cooking class, and a delectable three-course meal. Begin your experience at Gerald's home, where he'll drive you to the Marché Paysan de Coustellet if your group has four or fewer. For groups of five or more, please arrange your own transportation to the market, as Gerald's car accommodates up to four guests. At the vibrant market, guided by Gerald, a professional English-speaking chef, you'll select top-quality, seasonal ingredients and learn how to choose the best produce like a local. Afterward, return to Gerald's home, which features a professional kitchen studio. Here, you'll don an apron and create a customized menu based on your market finds, culminating in an unforgettable culinary adventure.

Please note that this market tour experience is only offered on Sundays.

Notes: Gerald currently only offers morning experiences. If you are interested in an evening experience, please email us at reservations@travelingspoon.com and we can check Gerald's availability for you.
