Discover the rich world of Colombian coffee through the eyes of your host, Indira, on this immersive Bogotá coffee tour. More than just a tasting, this experience is a window into Colombia’s vibrant culture and deep-rooted coffee traditions.
Indira will share fascinating stories and insights about Colombian coffee - its history, cultural significance, and the rise of new-wave brewing methods. You’ll learn about the country’s diverse coffee-growing regions, what makes each unique, and the important role played by coffee farmers and cooperatives.
She’ll also guide you in how to taste specialty coffee like a pro, appreciating its fragrance, aroma, body, and flavor notes. As you visit 3–5 carefully selected cafés and snack shops, you’ll meet passionate baristas, roasters, and coffee shop owners, many of whom roast beans in-house and are eager to share their craft.
Along the way, enjoy typical Colombian snacks such as pandebono (cheese bread), arepas (corn patties), mora cake (blackberry cake), and palo de queso (cheese sticks), all while diving deeper into Colombia’s coffee culture.
This is just a sample menu to give you an idea of the types of dishes the host cooks. Your menu will vary according to seasonal availability.
Indira was born and raised in Bogota, which is near a coffee-growing state of Colombia. She learned to love coffee as she visited specialty coffee shops and learned from expert baristas. Now she loves to share her coffee knowledge with visitors as well as Colombians, and explain to people why coffee not only means so much to her, but to all Colombians. In her free time she drinks more coffee! She also dedicates part of every week to do volunteer work in Spanish, French and English.
