Suzy is your quintessential grandmother - warm, loving, kind, cheerful and fun! She and Bob host these big, wonderful dinners for friends and family that you wished you could attend. I could sense her deep passion for food just by the way she spoke about her produce and the care she takes into creating each dish. I loved visiting her home which is simply gorgeous - I especially loved her collection of art and the stunning gardens. It was a most memorable afternoon.
Ine is a true artist with food! After the heavy stews and rich sauces I tasted in Belgium, Ine's fresh, light and colorful dishes were a delightful respite. She is a wealth of knowledge about the city and its restaurants and takes great pride and care in creating and presenting her dishes. I had a truly wonderful meal and delightful afternoon with the lovely Ine. Even the way she presented me with drinking water was fun - in tall bottles filled with fennel, thyme and cucumber in one and strawberries, lemon and mint in the other. It was spa water! She is a wonderful person to chat with about Brussels and her passion for food and presentation really shines through. Her pea gazpacho was a vivid green and the calamari in tomato coulis just melted in my mouth. I had a wonderful food experience with Ine in her minimalist, modern apartment in Brussels.
