Fatemeh hails from the enchanting land of Iran, renowned for its delectable cuisine that tantalizes your taste buds and brings joy to those eating it. Her culinary journey began at a tender age under the guidance of her mother, where she imbibed the art of cooking with love and passion. As she grew older, her cooking was inspired by her travels, stories of people she met and her memories from home. Join her in discovering the richness of Persian cuisine in Berlin and let your shared moments around the table create memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.
In-home meal (1 - 5 guests) Fatemeh loves cooking and feeding – it brings her immense joy when people enjoy her food. Join her in her apartment in Berlin to enjoy some of her favorite Persian foods, that she grew up eating. Your meal will include dishes that are combinations of rice with meat, vegetables, herbs, dried fruits, nuts, saffron and dried lime. A few dishes that you might try are kashk-o bademjan (Persian eggplant dip), rice and walnut stew and sholezard (rice pudding that includes saffron, sugar, rose water, butter, cinnamon and cardamom). While you eat, Fatemeh will share stories of growing up in Iran, how she learned to cook, stories of how these dishes originated and ingredients used. You will leave with your stomachs full while also gaining insight into Persian history, food, culture and culinary traditions.
Cooking experience (1 - 5 guests) In your 2 hour hands-on Persian cooking class in Berlin, learn to make two dishes from scratch. Fatemeh's kitchen is small so you will use the dining table as well to cut and prep for the cooking class. Learn to cook a Persian-style rice dish along with one main dish, either khoresh-e beh (Persian quince, plum and beef/lamb stew) or khoresh loobia sabz (Persian green bean stew) or abgoosht (Persian lamb and chickpea stew) or khoresh bademjan (Persian stew of eggplant and tomatoes). After cooking, help set the table and then enjoy the dishes you helped prepare.
Notes: Fatemeh can accommodate lactose free, vegetarian and vegan diets, on request. Please inform her of your dietary restrictions in advance, while booking your Berlin cooking class online.
