Meet Ann

A lovely Californian couple, Ann and Rick live in a large home along the Southern California Coast - near Laguna Beach, their neighbors include The Ritz Carlton and the Waldorf Astoria hotels. Ann and Rick are passionate about food, traveling and entertaining. Ann thinks of food as love and whenever she plans travels she makes sure to include cooking classes so she can learn from locals. Ann learned to cook from her mother, her travels and culinary school. An avid entertainer, Ann enjoys hosting dinner parties at her home for family and friends. Ann and Rick are planning to retire and are excited to host guests from around the world in their beautiful home. The couple shares their home with two cats who will be upstairs during your experience.

Cooking experience (1 - 8 guests) Meet your hosts at their home in Dana Point, a beautiful residence located minutes from Laguna Beach and the Ritz Carlton and Waldorf Astoria hotels. Begin with your welcome cocktail and appetizer while you discuss the menu and recipes. Join Ann in her spacious kitchen to learn to cook a French Californian meal from scratch. During your hands-on cooking class, Ann will teach you to make four dishes from scratch. You will apply French cooking techniques to local Californian produce. Learn a great technique to make the creamiest mashed potatoes, braise fresh green beans and make delicious chicken with morels (a favorite Parisian recipe). For dessert, prepare choux pastry for cream puffs (much easier to prepare than you might think!). After cooking, sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you helped prepare accompanied with French red or white wine.
