Host offerings
Phim has been cooking since she was a young girl. While her mother was busy working, Phim learned to cook basic Thai dishes for herself. This early introduction in the kitchen blossomed into a lifelong love of cooking. Phim married an American and now they have two children together. She has passed on her love of cooking to her kids. Her husband’s work has taken the family all over the world as they have lived overseas in several countries. No matter where they live, Phim strikes up new friendships by teaching Thai cooking and entertaining guests with her skillful central Thai cooking. <br> <br> Like many Thais, Phim is a bit reserved at first but warms up with time. She lives in a comfortable house in the Bang Naa neighborhood. Her mother, husband or kids might join you if they are around during your visit.

In-home meal (1 - 6 guests) Phim proudly serves a selection of her favorite authentic Central Thai dishes such as Popiatod (crispy fried spring rolls), sweet green coconut curry, and Khaijiao (Thai-style omelet with minced pork and fresh herbs). For dessert, you might get to try a subtle and sweet stewed pumpkin in coconut milk infused with the delicate flavor of pandan leaf.
Cooking experience (1 - 6 guests) During your hands-on cooking lesson, Phim will explain how to prepare various Thai recipes, showing you some of her favorite cooking tricks to create perfectly balanced dishes. Her years of living abroad have made Phim an expert in finding suitable substitutes for hard-to-find Thai ingredients. You will prepare 1-2 dishes during your one hour cooking session before you sit down to enjoy the meal together at her dining table.
Market visit (1 - 6 guests) Phim will pick you up at the Bang Na BTS station and you will drive together to the local Raam2 Market, about 15-20 minutes away. This medium sized market is a wonderful example of a typical neighborhood Thai marketplace. You’ll see fresh fruits and vegetables, piles of verdant herbs, and a selection of meat and seafood for sale. When your shopping is complete, you’ll drive to Phim’s house where you will start to cook together in her kitchen.
