Meet Meigh

Brought up in a family of doctors, Meigh was supposed to follow in the family’s footsteps but she had something else in mind: food. She was inspired by her father’s ease in the kitchen, watching him turn seemingly uncomplicated dishes into delicious works of art. As a young woman, she went to Finland as an exchange student and was soon spicing up Finnish palates with her “exotic” creations from a sunny, faraway land. After completing her bachelor’s degree she went on to study Western & Thai Culinary Arts at Dusit Thani College in Bangkok. Now, she says, she has two dreams: one is to develop her own cooking and lifestyle brand; the other is to elevate Thai cuisine to the best in the world.

What to expect

Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.

In-home meal (1 - 5 guests) At Meigh's table you'll taste dishes such as hormuk pla (steamed, curried fish in banana leaves flavored with kaffir lime leaves, cabbage, coriander, and coconut milk), nam prik ong (northern-style spicy meat and tomato dip), tom kaa gai (a delicious chicken soup simmered in coconut milk with mushrooms, kaffir lime leaves, galangal and lemongrass) and her wonderful pandan custard for dessert.

Cooking experience (1 - 5 guests) Join Meigh in the kitchen where she’ll teach you to cook using some of her favorite family recipes. You can expect to learn to make 2-3 dishes during your hands-on cooking lesson.

Market visit (1 - 5 guests) Meet Meigh at her home and then head to the market by taxi, about 15 min. You will help Meigh shop for the ingredients for your meal at Tungkru 61 Market, a neat, indoor market that has a plethora of fresh, colorful produce – and a lively local scene. Back at her lovely home, you'll enter the kitchen to learn to prepare an authentic Thai meal.
