Meet Teresa

Teresa started her wine and beverage career in a Port wine shop in Sintra and has been involved in the wine industry since 2007. She is now an independent sommelier and wine educator as well as an active ambassador of Portuguese wines. Teresa is extremely passionate and enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge with everyone who is interested in the world of Portuguese wine. Through this unique wine experience, Teresa will link the technical world of wine to the pleasure of its taste and aroma, combined with a Portuguese cheese and charcuterie - giving you a chance to experience Portuguese culture and tradition at her dining table! At the end, a crash course about Port wine is also included while you will enjoy a glass of a Tawny 10 Year Old Port.

In Teresa's words, “I am so excited and looking forward to start opening the bottles and sharing my passion with international guests.”

She understands the difference between Portuguese wines and wines from other countries, and contextualizes it in a fun and interactive way. My favorite culinary memory from the experience was trying the Alvarhino, a white wine typical of vino verde region. It was crisp and refreshing, great for the summer heat and also goes really well with food. It was also the most memorable since Teresa corrected some previous misunderstandings I had about Vino Verde.
