Meet Nohad

Nohad is a nature lover, who loves spending time gardening, being with her pets, and cooking - a stress buster for her! Nohad lives in a scenic town called Monsef, which is famous for its beaches and clear, blue skies. She learned how to cook from her grandmother, and uses her secret recipes and techniques to preparing appetizing Lebanese dishes. With her very strong passion for food, Nohad has been cooking Lebanese food for over 30 years now and wishes to continue doing this for years to come! A lot of the produce for the home comes from Nohad’s garden from where she gets fresh and organic vegetables. Nohad enjoys hosting people at her home, as it allows her to meet new people from different walks of life, and form new relationships.

In-home meal (1 - 8 guests) This experience will take place in Nohad’s beautiful stone home, which is quite common to see around Lebanon. Nohad incorporates various techniques in her cooking which she learned from her grandmother while growing up. You will get to enjoy refreshing salads such as fattoush or tabbouleh, which will be made using local produce from Nohads’ garden. Nohad will make sure that you do not miss out on famous Lebanese dips like hummus or baba ganoush, that might be accompanied with kibbeh (ball-shaped croquettes, stuffed with minced meat, onions, pine nuts, and spices) or roasted rabbit served with mashed potatoes. Your flavorful Lebanese meal will end with homemade marmalade or Lebanese donuts drizzled with carob molasses.

Cooking experience (1 - 8 guests) You will walk with Nohad to her home garden to collect fresh vegetables, that will be used to prepare the dishes which you will cook together, in Nohads’s bright and cozy kitchen. Nohad will teach you how to make a salad - either fattoush or tabbouleh, and kibbeh (ball-shaped croquettes, stuffed with minced meat, onions, pine nuts, and spices) or a roasted rabbit dish. This hands-on experience will last for about 1 hour, after which you will be share the meal that you prepared with Nohad and her family (when they are around). Also, Nohad is happy to customize the dishes for you, so if you'd like to cook something specific, please let her know in advance.
