Host offerings
Ananya lives in the Eastern side of Mumbai in a lovely apartment complex with her husband and mother-in-law. Apart from her amazing talent in food, she is also an artist and has exhibited her works across the globe. She believes she is a creative creator in the quest to create masterpieces through art and food. Amongst her many talents, she has written a cook book called ‘Planet Gastronomy – 1000 Most Popular Recipes,’ which contains the most popular recipes from across 60 countries. Ananya often has pop up restaurants in the city showcasing Ethiopian, Bengali, Turkish, Moroccan and around the world platters. She is also a host on a You Tube Channel ‘Ananya-r Rannaghor’, which showcases Bengali cuisine at its best. Ananya loves to travel and meet different people from different regions and culture. For her, food is synonymous with travel and because she loves eating local food when she travels she is excited to provide it for travelers visiting her city.

In-home meal (1 - 15 guests) You will be greeted by Ananya into her warm cozy home with a welcome drink. You will then join her at her dining table to experience one of the finest home cooked Bengali meals. Some of the dishes you will try may include shukto (mixed vegetables with bitter gourd), daal (lentil), posto (potatoes in a poppy seed paste), fish in a mustard sauce, mutton or chicken Kosha (Bengali style meat preparation), steamed rice, chutney and pappad. For dessert, you may enjoy bhapo doi (steamed yogurt) or the ever famous rossogola-r payesh (sweetened milk pudding with cottage cheese balls).
Cooking experience (1 - 15 guests) Join Ananya in her kitchen for a cooking class of Bengali cuisine as you snack on some appetizers. You can expect to learn from your host how to make 2-3 of the dishes you will be eating.
Market visit (1 - 15 guests) Ananya will take you to a nearby market to explore the local and regional produce of Maharashtra before you return to her kitchen for a cooking class of Bengali food.
Notes: Ananya can offer Ethiopian, Moroccan, Turkish, Peruvian or other Indian regional cuisines upon request. Ananya is not available to host on weekends but can offer lunch or dinners during weekdays.
