Host offerings
Clive has 14 years’ experience working as a chef in many restaurants including Michelin stars. His specialty is Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine – he started out as a teppanyaki chef and transitioned to a sushi chef. Clive was born and raised by his grandmother in Zimbabwe. She taught him to cook traditional Zimbabwean dishes and passed down to him her family recipes. Then Clive moved to South Africa, attended culinary school and learned and mastered Japanese cuisine. He worked in restaurants and hotels in South Africa, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Seychelles and Mauritius. In 2022, he moved to the Isle of Man to raise a family and currently works as a head chef here. Clive is adept at cooking various cuisines - Japanese, Cantonese, Italian, Mediterranean and Southern African.

In-home meal (1 - 4 guests) Clive lives with his partner and son in Port Erin. His goal is to share his food knowledge and expertise with those interested in learning. He is excited to showcase his skills, knowledge and experience from his vast culinary journey spanning from South Africa to United Arab Emirates to Isle of Man. You can choose between a Zimbabwean, South African, Japanese and Italian meal. You will be served an appetizer, main course and dessert.
Cooking experience (1 - 4 guests) In your 1.5 hour hands-on cooking class in Isle of Man, learn to make an appetizer and main dish. Either learn to make fritters or sushi or bruschetta and a stew or stir fried meat and vegetables or pasta. Clive will walk you through the step by step process of making these dishes, while sharing useful tips and cooking techniques. After cooking, sit down to share the meal you helped prepare.
Notes: Clive can accommodate lactose free, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian diets, if informed in advance. Please let your host know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies while booking your cooking class in Isle of Man.
