Host offerings
Chris has been hosting food tours since 2017 and introducing travelers to the history of Prague through its cuisine and culture. He is an author of a book called Evoluce českého jídla (Czech food evolution) that tracks down over 1000 years of Czech cuisine development, now available at bookstores. Food is a great way to understand the past, every meal has a story and Chris finds it thrilling to find out how some foods evolved over time. On this Prague food tour not only will you taste local food and drink and get cultural insight, but you will also get introduced to the history of the things you taste - how it relates to the Czech past. Get a detailed introduction to Czech cuisine and defy many of the ossified stereotypes frequently repeated by the locals themselves.

This is what Chris said when asked why he would like to be a Traveling Spoon host, “I am also a traveler who knows that nothing connects you to a place like local meals. Seafood paella served with love by a Spanish mom in the picturesque village of Herrera. Fresh mussels with herbs and local cider in the beautiful Basque town of San Sebastian. Roast beef sandwich with my dad enjoyed in the rainy countryside of Yorkshire.…All of these experiences inspired me to start a food tour in Prague and share our heritage with you! Finally, as a local, I feel responsible to offer an alternative to all the ‘hop on hop offs’ and ‘beer bikes’ by providing this exclusive food and history tour.”
