Meet Kelly

Kelly is a health, fitness and well-being enthusiast, who could talk about food and travel all day! She is a passionate home cook of Cretan heritage, who was born and brought up in Australia. Greece is very close to her heart and through this experience she would like to share more about her heritage, her passion for Greek food and her love for travel. She hosts culinary travel tours to Crete and conducts Greek cooking classes and walking food tours in Melbourne.

Cooking experience (1 - 10 guests) Kelly is excited to teach you how to cook a delicious and nutritious meal, in a fun and interactive environment, so that you can gain the kitchen skills needed to become a confident cook. Welcome to her open plan kitchen and a fruit tree garden to enjoy an authentic Greek cooking class with a proud home cook. Together you will prepare, cook, eat and enjoy a delicious Greek and Mediterranean meal! You will learn how to prepare traditional, authentic dishes that you won’t commonly find in a Greek restaurant. Instead, it is food that you would expect to eat in the kitchen of a Greek family home.

Firstly, learn about the Mediterranean based diet - its health benefits and the 10 ground rules of the this diet. And then learn how to make traditional Greek food using family recipes. Learn to cook three dishes in your 3 hour hands on cooking class. You might learn to make Cretan bougatsa (cheese parcels with 3 cheeses) or tiropita (cheese pie), gemista (rice stuffed tomatoes) or dolmades (vine leaves stuffed with rice) and olive oil and wine biscuits or olive oil and orange cake. After cooking, sit down together to share the meal you helped prepare.
